Thai AirAsia plans to begin a direct service between Bangkok and Hanoi on October 17 according to this report. The starting fare for a one-way ticket will be 1,449B (excluding taxes). This compares to 13,785 and 17,480 baht charged respectively by Thai Airways and Vietnam Airlines. A Thai AirAsia representative said the airline hoped to achieve 80% occupancy and had also applied to fly on the Bangkok-Ho Chi Minh City sector.
