Vietnam announces no limitation on budget airlines

The Civil Aviation of Vietnam (CAV) has stated they would grant operation licenses to budget airlines provided that airports are not overloaded. CAV previously warned that the presence of numerous budget airlines would reduce the market share of Vietnam Airlines. After an aviation agreement is signed between Vietnam and a partner country, the air carrier selected by the partner government applies to CAV and will be licensed if it can meet set requirements. Tiger Airways and Thai Air Asia are already licensed, with Tiger deciding to increase their flights from three to seven a week.
