Tiger to fly Da Nang - Singapore
Viet Nam Net reports Tiger Airways has unveiled plans to launch a Da Nang-Singapore route before the end of 2005. Silk Air already operates a Da Nang - Singapore service thrice weekly, but passenger numbers are very low (20 per flight) according to industry insiders. Despite this, Tiger MD Tony Davis believes that cheap tickets will encourage foreign tourists, who have heard about the ancient town of Hoi An, to fly to the region, adding that the number of Singaporean tourists travelling to Vietnam has increased by 80% in the first nine months.
