Jetstar pull-out of Calcutta

The Telegraph reports that Jetstar Asia has announced the withdrawal of its Calcutta operations from May 1. With load factor rates down in the forties (but with a break-even point of 75%), the route was not performing at all. Chong Phit Lian, CEO of Jetstar Asia and Valuair, said on Monday: “Affected passengers will be offered a full refund or a change in itinerary to the higher-value Bangalore-Singapore sector.”
