Jetstar runs into trouble
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Jetstar Asia has cancelled several flights this week with little in the way of explanations. It cancelled a third of its scheduled flights out of Singapore and Valuair (a subsidiary which Jetstar uses to service Indonesia after failing to gain rights to fly their itself) cancelled 50% of their flights. Talk is that the airline is looking to ditch some of its unprofitable flights while simultaneously dealing with a severe pilot shortage.
