Lion Air orders 22 737-900ERs

AP reports that Boeing Tuesday said that Lion Air placed an order for 22 planes worth more than US$1.7b during Q2. The airline placed the order for Boeing’s Next-Generation 737-900ER. It brings Lion Air’s combined orders for the 737-900ER up to 122. Lion Air’s airplanes will be equipped with blended winglets, which improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by up to 4%, Boeing said.
