AAP reports that Air Asia is eyeing Adelaide and Melbourne as new destinations as Air Asia X will announce its entry point into Australia in July. “My two favourite routes are Adelaide and (Avalon) Melbourne,” CEO Tony Fernandes said. “Maybe we will go to both.”

Thanh Nien News reports that AirAsia has reduced fares on its Hanoi to Bangkok and Hanoi to Kuala Lumpur services. Fares as low as US$29 and $35 respectively (excluding taxes etc) will be available from early May.

The Australian reports that Australia and Malaysia are in talks to open a low-cost air routes, primarily flown by Jetstar and AirAsia. Plans hold for Jetstar to operate from KL in return for AirAsia gaining landing rights into Australia.

Thai AirAsia goes to Langkawi

Bernama reports that on Jan 6, Thai Air Asia will commence its three-times-a-week Bangkok-Langkawi direct flights. A Thai Air Asia spokesperson said the flight would leave Bangkok at 2.15pm and depart Langkawi at 5.30pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. No word on price.
