Pacific Airlines offers super-cheap flights

VietNamNet Bridge reports that Pacific Airlines is offering 100,000 one-way tickets at discount rates for domestic flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong to promote its new route. Prices start at just VND15,000 (not including fees, taxes etc) one-way. Under the latest promotional campaign, tickets must be booked via the Pacific Airlines website and paid for with credit cards before May 31, 2008.

Pacific Airlines begins Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong

Thanh Nien Daily reports that Pacific Airlines will launch the Ho Chi Minh City-Hai Phong flight route this week. The inaugural flight will take off on Friday at 12:15 p.m. from Saigon and at 4:45 p.m. from Hai Phong. The flights will run daily.

Pacific Airlines adds Hue

The Saigon Times reports that Pacific Airlines started service between Tan Son Nhat Airport of Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Bai Airport of Hue over the weekend in response to increasing demand for air travel to Hue. The low-cost carrier operates the 168-seat Boeing 737-400 for the daily flights departing from HCMC at 07:00 and from Hue at 08:50.

Nhan Dan reports that Pacific Airlines will open three local air routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Hue (from Dec 1, 2007), to Hai Phong (from Dec 21, 2007), and Vinh (from Jan 25, 2008).

Vietnam’s Pacific Airlines is running a promotion through November offering domestic tickets for as little as 15,000VND. The way they explain the promotion is a little unclear (to be expected — Pacific is the airline that once used the slogan “We Fly Lower”) — see what you make of it:

This program will be automatically set by the reservation management system to distribute all fare levels including 15,000VND, 150,000VND, 500,000VND, etc. to every flight every day. In this way everyone will get the same opportunity to hunt out the cheap fares themselves.

Also, they’re currently running the promo on the site along with a very prominent appeal for new pilots. It seems the application process closes before the promotion starts — that should be a relief…
