Tiger Airways have announced their latest hot deals — valid for tickets purchased between 2 and 8 October for travel between 6 January and 28 February (excluding 15-20 Feb and public holidays). The following destinations (all ex Singapore) are all going at a 40% discount:
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Darwin, Guangzhou, Haikou, Hanoi, Hat Yai, Ho

Tiger Airways wants Singapore-KL route

CNA reports that Tiger Airways remains keen to fly the Singapore Kuala Lumpur route. The comes in the wake of reports that AirAsia is bidding for the route. Currently MAS and SIA control about 85% of flights between the two cities and the entry of budget carriers would likely see a dramatic drop in fares.

Tiger increases flights to Thailand

AFP reports that Tiger Airways will increase flights to some Thai destinations including Bangkok, Hatyai and Krabi due to strong demand. Tiger to sell two then lease back

Bloomberg reports that Singapore-based Tiger Airways plans to sell two of its Airbus A320s and then lease them back. The reasoning behind the deal is apparently further cost-cuttings. Meanwhile Tiger is looking to convert options for a further eight a320s into firm orders — increasing its total fleet to 20 aircraft.

Flight International reports that Tiger Airways expects to establish an associate airline in another Asian country by the end of 2006. There’s yet to be any conjecture about which country that will be, however having just opened three new routes from Singapore into China, perhaps a more substantial Chinese expansion is on the cards.
