One Two Go

One-Two-Go LogoOne-Two-Go is the budget vehicle of Orient Thai Airline. Their CEO and MD Udom Tantiprasongchai, has had a long and bruising battle with both other airlines and governmental politicking, with a failed venture in Cambodia and some horrendous losses at the Orient Thai’s previous incarnation Orient Express Air. Today the parent company operates primarily as an international charter airline while One-Two-Go operates as a Thailand-based Low Cost Carrier.

Both One-Two-Go and Orient Thai differ from the other budget airlines in the region in that their fleet is, with the exception of their Boeing 757’s comprised of old 747 Classics and MD-82s.

In September 2007, a One-Two-Go MD-82 from Bangkok to Phuket crashed on landing, killing at least 88 people, including many foreign tourists. The plane attempted to land in terrible weather and there were allegations made later that the Indonesian pilot was refused permission for a second attempt at landing, along with suggestions that Phuket International Airport had significant safety issues.
